Video/ Computer section. NEW EQUIPMENT. We have recently purchased an A4 size paper/photo scanner which can scan transparencies and negatives.

COMPUTING :: We have broadband and with wireless connections it is available on 2 computers (at this time - more may be connected subject to demand.

VIDEO - Non section BTLRC members :: For a small donation to the video section funds, we will convert your video tapes onto DVD without you having to become a member of the section. NOTE NOT copyrighted videos e.g. commercial films.

The two free visits offer (before a registration fee may be required), has been extended to BT people and guests.

An A3 photo printer is available (by prior arrangement) should you want to make prints on paper, card or photo quality paper and prints can be printed to order at a reasonable cost and the section has a small stock of specialist papers for one off prints or if you want a few sheets to try at home we'll sell you some and non-glossy prints can be laminated on our laminating equipment (now includes up to A3 size).

As a section member, if you want to edit your Videos or need help or one to one tuition on Computing (including genealogy) or the Internet, do come along any Wednesday night. The Digital Video Editing Computer suite can be used to edit analogue and digital videos onto portable hard drives and to make DVD's. We have a full range of tape formats 8mm, super8, VHS, SVHS to play and convert your videos to DVD digital or edit and then make the into DVD's.
